Wire stitching is used for gathering brochure pages together, they are bound by a wire stitch.
We have fully automated and hand operated booklet making equipment.

Recycled Paper & Board

25/50/100% recycled paper and card

We specialize in printing on recycled materials using vegetable inks. Items from Menus to brochures can be printed on these materials. All papers that are not recycled are FSC approved.

Spot UV

Normal & Scodix

There are 2 types of spot UV now available. Standard Spot UV which is a single layer of gloss used to highlight your images or to be used as a stand-alone graphic element. The second new option now available is a digital raised UV called SCODIX, this is limited to certain materials and not suited for long runs. Scodix can be used on out short-run brochure covers and either business cards and flyers. It's very important to follow the guidelines for using these finishes if used incorrectly can cheapen the look of your product. Please always consult us first so we can advise you during your design process.

Laminating

Lamination is a thin plastic coating used to alter the surface feel and add protection to a printed item. There's 3 main types of lamination Matt, Gloss and Soft touch. Soft touch is relatively new, has such a delicate feel but can also be very costly for a larger run. 

Embossing

We emboss in-house on our Heidelberg Letterpress using special Dies to achieve this finish. A softer material will achieve a better indent.

Hot Foil

Hot Foil is a finishing option that enhances areas of your design. We have a wide range of foil choice for you to choose and are here to help and advise what works best with your design and material choice. Foil works particularly well on an uncoated board leaving an indented impression that contrasts well. All our foiling is produced on our Heidelberg Letterpress using metal blocks. Common foil colours include; Silver,Gold,Rose Gold, Copper, Black and White.

Die-Cutting

Die-cuting is used to cut shapes out of materials which a guillotine is unable. Die cutting requires a wooden cutting form. The form can cut, perforate and score the sheet. 
Die-cutting is used on Folders, packaging and shaped flyers.

Scoring

Scoring is usually applied to materials over 150gsm this prevents the cracking of the fibres in the paper, which would show up through the ink. 

Bookbinding

We offer soft bound and hardbound book finishing. We have on site hot melt perfect binding suitable for short runs. Larger runs are outsourced with a professional print finishing company using PUR glue.

Round Cornering

We can round corner your business cards, flyers and brochures; this adds a little extra finish to your product. 

Laser Cutting

This is an online digital laser cutting option. To be used for intricate cutting. The laser burns the shapes and is limited in material and design choice. It’s best to speak to us so we can advise if your product is suitable. 

Wire Binding

We have electronic wire binding on site for all your manuals, dissertations or report printing
